This letter is to inform you of the upcoming Central Zone Band Clinic that will take place on Friday, April 8th. The students will arrive to HMS/IA as they usually do, but upon arrival all 7th & 8th grade students will travel via bus to Sullivan Central High School. During the day the students will rehearse music with Blountville Middle School Band’s 7th & 8th graders, as well as all 9th through 12th grade SCHS band members. Mr. Chris Smithson, Sullivan Central Band Director, and Mr. George Naff, guest conductor, will lead the clinic preparing the students for a concert Friday night at 6:00pm. The concert will take place in the SCHS gym. I am attaching a schedule and school trip permission form to this letter. Please return the permission forms ASAP, deadline will be Wednesday, April 6th by 3pm.
This concert will count as a performance grade for the fourth nine weeks grading period and attendance is expected. ALL absences should be cleared BEFORE Friday, April 8th with Mr. Nichols. We will wear NICE school clothes – please no sweatpants on Friday, April 8th.
Lunch will be at 11:55am and student lunch ID numbers will work at SCHS. Students are also welcomed to bring their lunch. Dinner will be at 4:30pm, which will be pizza and drinks. Concert will take place at 6:00pm, warm-up is after dinner at 5:45pm.

This is our first attempt at such an activity. It will be an amazing experience for all of the BMS, HMS/IA, and SCHS band members to assemble as one large unified group and perform fun music.
